The roll handling device is used in the metallurgical industry normally for clamping and handling rolls. It is divided into two types: i.e. that for the single rolls and that for the paired rolls. The gripper is opened or closed by gravity-based opening and closing mechanism to hold or release the roll by means of mechanical lever; the pin is easy to adjust and has reliable performance, allowing the device to handle 1~3 kinds of rolls of different diameters; the contact part between the inner side of the gripper and the roll barrel is equipped with a detachable copper pad to prevent the roll surface from being scratched and prevent occurrence of indentation on the roll surface. This efficient and heavy duty device is characterized by simple design, accurate clamping, safe and reliable handling and easy operation, and it is mainly used for handling the roll which needs to be loaded/unloaded to/from the roll grinding machine in the roll shop, and the mill roll which needs to be changed.
